A Little Bit About Me...

College students are difficult to work with because they think they know it all. This was a blessing in disguise because it taught me not only to learn different ways to tutor a student, but also to figure out through body language and little signals as to whether or not they were actually comprehending the information. Teaching is not just giving information and hoping they retain it. My teaching style consists of teaching, asking questions to ensure they know or understand the material, and exercising hands-on work and examples to ensure the student can apply what they have learned.
I love the written word and reaching people, so I ultimately chose to major in journalism. My love for teaching and instructing students led me to pursue my minor in education. Seeing a child's face light up when they pass a test or understand a problem is quite rewarding to me. Another program I have work with is "No Child is Left Behind".
