I use a "Consultive Style", i.e. I ask good questions to ascertain where the student needs help. I also try to identify what they may find difficult and how we may best address this issue. I also demonstrate where the subject we are studying may prove very helpful in careers and/or lives.
I have tutored and mentored High School Football Students in all levels of Mathmatics, Physics, and other Sciences. I have conducted numerous Training Classes in the Business Administration Field such as Marketing, Cost Accounting , and Statistics. I attended Lehigh University on an Academic Scholarship. Lehigh offers a great , broad based engineering education. I love helping young people develop. My four children are grown and ALL of them attended college. As a re-founding member and President of the Syracuse University chapter of the National Society of Pershing Rifles (www.pershingriflessociety.org) I was responsible for the planning and instruction of between 12 and 20 students in the areas of Leadership, Project Management, Exhibition Drill and Wilderness Survival. Throughout my engineering curriculum I was very often tasked with assisted in the instruction of others in small group sessions as well as larger group project settings. I also received tutoring which provides a unique perspective on how adaptability is important.
In my experience with teaching, I find that the best way to connect and convey the information is to provide aural, visual and experiential exposure to the material.
