I prefer to sit down with students with a white board in front so that we may "map-out" and categorize the information being delivered. Talking students through the subject while providing visuals has been my most effective ways of getting students to remember and process information.
I received my teaching degree from Sam Houston State University in 2004 and have been happily teaching ever since. My favorite subject is US History, both before and after Reconstruction. I have been teaching at a large public High School for the last 10 years. I am certified to teach both Advanced Placement courses as well as International Baccalaureate History courses. A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught for 3 years at Sam Houston State University for the Department of Chemistry. As a high school student I tutored off and on for around 4 years. I am currently working on my Master's in chemistry at SHSU.
I love helping students understand concepts that seem 100% foreign to them. I teach mostly geared towards visual learners. I tend to use visual and real life examples to push my students to grasp the concepts for themselves. I prefer to make them do the work and answer questions as we move forward. I do not believe students should just be given answers. They should be given the tools to answer the questions for themselves.
