I am currently a PhD student in Computer and Electrical Engineering at the University of Maryland. I have both my B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Bucknell University. In addition, I have several years of experience as a teaching assistant at Bucknell. I also have several years of experience with computer science, programming for a government laboratory.
I like to try and figure out how a student goes about understanding different topics. Often times teachers teach right from the textbook, but this can be confusing and students can be left behind because they learn differently. Individualized learning/teaching for optimal comprehension

I take a hands on material approach to learning/teaching. I feel that young students learn best when they can physically learn, such as through blocks/puzzles/interactive learning devices and other similar approaches. I try to let the student use their hands as much as I can to aid in their learning process. For older students such as my high school students or their college counterparts I use more direct audial teaching and visual teaching styles.
