I have had a well rounded career as a business professional and musician. As an information technology professional, I have worked with more software and tools than this space would allow me to catalog. As a senior manager and Chief Information Officer, I have worked to gain an understanding of the businesses processes and implemented beneficial solutions. I love to mentor\tutor and enjoy watching my students grow. I have been a musician for most of my life and have been a part of several professional CD projects. I have a laid back style that promotes lifelong learning in the student (not just keystrokes) and provide a frame of reference for them to always have to refer to when needed.

My teaching style with students of all ages is to facilitate their learning as opposed to simply feeding them what I feel is the best response. Students learning is maximized when they can take ownership of and pride in their work. I am very patient. Recognizing that all students learn differently, I seek to ascertain their learning styles and then adjust my tutoring style to that learning style.
I taught and tutored ESL two years before entering law school. I hae taught college classes as an adjunct and later FT professor at Penn College for 25 years. I currently serve as Career Outreach Coordinator for HACC-Lebanon Campus. I have tutored many students, particularly in areas such as writing essays. I also served as a reader for the SAT Writing section, so I am familiar with what they are seeking. I am very proficient in grammar and structure.

A Little Bit About Me...

Head coach for girls’ softball team and won first place every year. I instructed students in various technical schools the Medical Billing/Coding Programs. Now, teaching Medical Billing/Coding at Harrisburg Area Community College. In addition, I tutored high school students for two years in Algebra. I have an understanding of how students struggle in various subjects such as Math and English which are two of my strongest areas.
What tools I use in the classroom really depends on the student's learning style and course material.
