I am starting my own SAT prep company this fall (see achieveexcellencehawaii.com). I am currently the SAT prep teacher (and upper school science teacher) at American Renaissance Academy in Kapolei. I have been tutoring various subjects for over 10 years, have about 6 years of teaching experience (with a focus on math, science, and ESL), and have taught numerous SAT prep classes and tutored a handful of students in SAT prep for other companies. I have been blessed to help many students raise their total SAT scores 300-600 points. I have a Master's Degree in Divinity from Azusa Pacific University (CA) and Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biology from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Flexible - it depends on the student's needs and preference. One size fits all teaching is poor teaching. My tutoring experience has mainly focused on SAT / ACT prep and ESL (TOEFL). I have also been a high school / middle school teacher in social studies / history / humanities for the past 4 years. I'm now working on my Masters at UH-Manoa. Throughout high school I was a teaching assistant at Iolani during the summer for English Language Learners. While attending Harvard University, I volunteered in a after school program in Boston's Chinatown community teaching second and third graders from low income families.
