I am a dedicated professional who is passionate about helping students achieve academic success. This past year, I spent time as an SES Lead Tutor after school and in-home and tutored (Reading - phonics based - and Math) many children in grades K through 7th that held IEPs. I believe that each child learns at their own Pace and if they are tested, the gaps in their education will appear. Once these gaps are addressed, they can move forward with their peers. This covered non-biological sciences and mathematics, as well as conversational Spanish and English literary composition up to the sophomore college level, Over the last five years, though the three years of my undergraduate education were the most busy, both peers and high school students took advantage of my services.
Post-pubescent persons have a great capacity to learn abstract material; all that is necessary to open that potential is to motivate them. I do not specialize in that motivation. When I teach reading, I convey my love of reading. When I teach math, I convey the logical beauty of math. I have worked for one school year as a substitute for both Hanover County and Louisa County, I am Currently employed by Hanover County Public Schools as a teaching assistant while continuing my work on my graduate work. I will still be employed by hanover County Schools for the 2009-2010 School year.
I work well as a one on one special education aide because my attention is soley on the activities and education of my students.
