One of the main things I learned in teaching various ages of children in Sunday School is that when they are liked and respected and they know that, they are paying attention and leaning even when they appear to be bored.
All of my teaching experience has been in a Sunday School setting. I understand that this is not in the school system, but I have had the oppertunity to learn to relate to children of various ages. Since acheiving my first accounting designation from the UK in 1991 I have taught accounting and Business Law to adults until 1998 when I migrated to the US. While here I was succesful in passing my CPA exams and I am now a member in good stabding with AICPA and Delaware Society of CPAs. I have been tutoring my relatives kids in math and science for over 4 years. One child is now in High School while 2 are in Middle School. Under my tutelage, the middle schoool kids have been able to make the honor roll whenever they put in practice what is taught. The usual success rate in making the honor roll is 70%.
