I have 17 years of experience playing the saxophone and am privately trained. I have been part of the New York Jazz workshop for the past few years and play in their advanced jazz ensemble. I have performed for Weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, Journal Dinners, Jazz clubs in the city. I have experience teaching the saxophone to all ages. I am great working with students and have experience teaching at Queens College in Statistics and other Finance and Business courses as well. I studied education at Montclair State University for 4 years but I have a always been a teacher. From leadership roles in high school to corporate training, I have a talent for being able to boil subjects down to their basics and provide true understanding. My strongest subjects are Math, Music, and Literature. I can also do work in Science, English and Humanities/Social Studies. I teach people to learn and find answers on their own. I guide the student through exercises in any field and try to avoid straight memorization by putting the subject is some kind of context. I keep up with current trends and technology and can use that to aid in relationships and teaching.

My teaching style could be described as fun, supportive, caring, and disciplined. By disciplined I don't mean tough, hard, or mean. Students are assigned work that they are expected to complete, although it won't be too time consuming. All work is intended to improve the student's abilities in the field that I will be tutoring them. Improvement is encouraged and positively reinforced. I have tutored Music Theory, Aural Skills, and Music History for two and a half years at Adelphi University. My G.P.A. in Music Theory was a 3.4 and my G.P.A. for Aural Skills was a 4.0. I was recommended by the former Department Chair-Person to tutor a student with special needs. I have also taught lessons primarily for trumpet, but also for tuba, trombone, euphonium, baritone, and French horn.
