Experience Summary
I have been playing saxophone for 15 years and have played in a variety of large and small ensembles at all levels including: Marching Band, Jazz Ensemble, Orchestra, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, and various select chamber ensembles. I have also done extensive solo work performing a vast array of saxophone literature at many different levels and locations. I have played/taught primarily locally in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New York giving private lessons/performances in addition to high school and collegiate master classes. I have also performed numerous times in saxophone conferences held in both Virginia and Georgia. In 2010 my saxophone quartet was awarded a grant by the University of Connecticut to play in both England and the Netherlands. For the past year I have been the baritone saxophonist for the Real Time Quartet.
Teaching Style
My teaching style is focussed around a very supportive environment. I reinforce every players individual strengths while consistently pushing students to face and conquer their deficiencies. I believe whole-heartedly that any student can achieve a very high level of success in music with hard work and the right guidance. I understand all the different ways students learn and I am well aware of all the challenges that come with any level of music/musician. I hold myself responsible to see that every student of mine achieves the most they can while simultaneously having great musical experiences along the way.
My Hobbies
My hobbies outside of music range too wide to list. I have passion for many areas outside of music including, sports, movies, tv shows, and video games. I explore any new opportunity whenever possible so I feel I can at least relate to almost everyone on some level.
