A Little Bit About Me...

As a homeschooler from fifth grade through high school, I learned the value of personalized instruction. My passion for learning the sciences led me to a double major in chemistry and mechanical engineering. While completing my degrees, I have been granted several opportunities to tutor in chemistry, mathematics, calculus, and the engineering sciences. In addition, I have worked closely with my instructors as a laboratory assistant in the freshman chemistry labs, and have been promoted to the position of laboratory instructor while I complete my second degree.
I enjoy working with a student until I see the "light bulb" come on. Because people are individuals, I realize that the same approach will not work with every student. A Little Bit About Me...

I really enjoy, generally speaking, helping people, but mainly help them pursue a future degree for themselves and a better life. I keep telling to my students that they should erase the "math fear" and that everything is easy if one understands it. Also, in case that they do not understand is my fought as a teacher and I am going to find a better way to explain the issue. In teaching, I try to make things easy for the students and make sure that they understood them. I believe that students should participate in the classroom.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style changes to fit the requirements of the subject and the needs of my students. I find that presenting and explaining works best for language arts and history, concept teaching works best for science, and direct instruction works best for mathematics. I also take into account the learning preferences of my students: left or right brained, visual, spatial, or kinesthetic because each prefers different treatment. As a tutor I strive to teach each student in the instructional method they prefer because this leads to an increased comfort level and willingness to learn, and it also enables them to process the material faster.
