My comments on tutoring Basic Learning Skills : I worked with elementary students as a substitute teacher and feel comfortable working with them in most subjects. I also taught French at the elementary level and worked with 5th and 6th graders in creating dances and performing them in the Chance to Dance program in Rhode Island.

I have varied and vast teaching experience (please see individual subjects below). I have a Master's and Bachelor's in French with a minor in Italian and am also a practicing LPN who has been working for the past 8 years in Rehab/Long-term Care and have participated in First Coast Technical College's Preceptor Program, where nursing students are paired with a mentor to practice clinical skills and obtain on-the-job training.

I had them go outside and collect samples of bark which had fallen on the ground. Then we created a gigantic mural in my classroom and glued the pieces of bark to a tree we had drawn.

I received my BS in Psychology & my Masters in Special Education. Through grad school I worked at a school specializing in dyslexia and reading disorders. I learned many research based strategies & practices for practical use in the classroom. I began working with those with developmental disabilities and those with learning disorders of all kinds.
