A Little Bit About Me...

I started tutoring in 7th grade back in 1976. I have been tutoring my own kids for over 14 years. I have been a Scout leader for over 9 years. I worked with boys ages 5 to 18 years of age. I have brought 2 learning disabled teens into my home to help them graduate High School. Both have gone on to be Certified Welders. I have presided over the Parental Acceptance Committee for both Fremont and all five of WSOS HeadStart Counties and all the centers in the School Districts of those counties. I am working on my Associate in Electronics and Computer Technology. I am also working on 17 IT Certificates and 9 Windows Certificates. After I get my ECT Associate I will start working on my BS in Electrical Engineering.

A Little Bit About Me...

Upon the completion of my undergraduate studies, I was encouraged to sign up as a substitute teacher. This subsequently led to a full time position, where I taught Junior High Mathematics. I also coached wrestling and mentored the Quiz Bowl team.
I truly miss teaching and mentoring kids. I approach teaching as an opportunity to bring out the maximum potential within each student. Teaching Science and Math requires that the student understand each step in order to understand a concept. Each student is unique requiring more help in one area than another. When teaching I have always insured that the student is competent with the basic concepts and then we move on to more complicated concepts. Chemistry, Physics and Math are visual and I work from text and paper and pencil to explain concepts. In addition there are many ways to solve math and science problems.
