A Little Bit About Me...

I have always been a tutor of sorts. I love to teach kids because of the sparkle they get in their eyes when they finally understand what they are being taught. Each child have a different learning style so I try to work with them to see what works for them. I have worked with kids who have ADD and the gifted. The greatest thing I can teach is that we can teach to create intelligence, but wisdom comes from using all that you know.
I started tutoring in 7th grade back in 1976. I have been tutoring my own kids for over 14 years. I have been a Scout leader for over 9 years. I worked with boys ages 5 to 18 years of age. I have brought 2 learning disabled teens into my home to help them graduate High School. Both have gone on to be Certified Welders. I love working with children. As a college graduate in a business field, I have much experience with many aspects of business. My minor work was done in Psychology. I have very good math skills, and much general training in accounting. I am also at an advanced level in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. A Little Bit About Me...

Although I have worked most of my career in industry, I have never stopped teaching. Teaching employees, customers, service engineers and other staff have always been one of my favorite parts of my job as a chemist. In addition to teaching at my jobs during the day, I have tutored students from the junior high school level to the college level. I have tutored chemistry, physics and math. My last paid position tutoring was at Oakland County Community College in Southfield, just after I received my nursing degree. I only have 18 credits to complete my Masters degree in Secondary Education. With this I will be certified to teach all levels of math and all sciences.
