My comments on tutoring Computer : Experienced to teach Middle School, High School

First off I approach learning with a degree of understanding for the student, I have found not all students learn at the same pace and have the same strengths and weakness. I like to build the strengths and bring up the weakness. A student must want to learn and to take ownership with his or her educational career no matter what the degree is in. I like to think, I can bring to table the confidence the student needs to make a difference in the way they learn. I am a graduate of Tennessee Temple University, with experience tutoring at Tennessee Temple University, as well as University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, in various topics, including biodiversity, mathematics (up to pre-calculus), history, and American Sign Language. My favorite approach is to take it slow. I find that to teach a student a specific field of knowledge there is almost always a hindering block that cannot be seen at first glance. For instance, a student who is having trouble with division of decimal numbers may not realize that the whole issue stems from his lack of understanding of the multiplication tables. Allowing the student to show you what he or she knows and watching the student attempt the problem step-by-step will reveal this hidden block. Once this hidden block is taken care of, the information will flow easily and naturally.

My teaching style is very specific to each student I tutor. I try to tailor my thoughts so that any student at any level in the subject can understand me. At the teaching center, the focus was to help guide the student to get the correct answer and not just give the answer. Sometimes the thinking process to achieving the correct answer is more important than the answer itself. I also try using diagrams and figures when they are called for to explain some of the topics.
