The Student Comes First

I allow my teaching style to mold itself to each individual student, finding methods of communicating the information that best suit the learning style of my student. I favor a holistic approach to learning, believing that education should be of the whole person. If a student learns how a skill in his tutoring session can be applied in real life, then his or her perception of the subject may fundamentally improve.

A Little Bit About Me...

As a youth I desired to become a teacher. I come from a long line of classroom teachers. My mother is a teacher, my grandfather was a professor at the University of Florida, and both great-grandmothers were educators as well. I have experience working with children since in high school where I worked summer camps, in college working with after school programs and tutoring those students, to graduating college and implementing teaching strategies in my own classroom. A Little Bit About Me...

The teaching style I use is completely dependent on the particular student being taught. I'm a big fan of the adage 'Give a man a fish, and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he will eat for the rest of his life'. My objective is to teach a child not only the material, but how they best learn so that they can teach themselves.
