As an English teacher, I have had the opportunities to work with many different ages and levels of students. From foreign kindergarten students through degree seeking college students and varying levels in between, I have learned many different skills to help me approach each learner with the tools that make learning easy and enjoyable. I have professional experience teaching Kindergarten, first grade, sixth grade language arts, and freshmen level college English. I believe working one-on-one with students can make a huge difference to help a students make progress. I think learning should be fun, and it can be fun if you go about it the right way. When teaching students, I provide a lot of student support, while expecting the students to work hard. I know that students can make progress and I am excited to help students make that progress. I have always been a dedicated student throughout all of my schooling, from kindergarten up to graduating from a university. I have a degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education, and I have worked with students from 3-12.

I really enjoy teaching math. I enjoy the challenge of finding ways to help students of various learning styles to understand. I feel that patience and consistency are important virtues to exhibit when teaching. The learning environment is also important. It should be conducive to learning and not overly distracting. I enjoy seeing students learn concepts that they didn't know before and getting excited about their new understanding. I have much experience teaching math to students of various learning styles. During the last 14 years, I have taught algebra, geometry, algebra 2, pre-algebra, basic math, pre-calculus, physical science, earth science, and biology mostly to high school level students.
