Gifted math tutor wants to help your student enjoy math!

I have a gift for working with students who struggle. I know where they are going to trip up and I am prepared to answer the questions that they do not even know they will have! I know at least 3 or 4 different ways to explain different concepts so if your student does not understand one way, I have another way. I have a BS in Physics for the City College of the City of New York, with a strong minor in mathematics. I have been in programming for over thirty years. I had not used my mathematical knowledge in many years, but when my grand daughter was having problems in Algebra I helped her. I helped with Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and trigonometry. I started going back to school for refresher courses, and am now taking courses in Real Analysis. I tutored one grandson and his firends in Calculus, and another grandson in college algebra. A Little Bit About Me...

I always find myself trying to lead others to figure out material on their own as a I set guidelines for them as they do so. I believe this is the best way for them to learn the material. I do not like to tell my students the answers, inhibiting them from thinking things through. I try to find different ways of teaching material in order to keep them motivated, as well.
