A Little Bit About Me...

I have my BA in social science and a Master's in counseling. I have been in the field of education for twenty years. I have taught in mostly middle and high school and am currently teaching psychology at Mid Michigan Community College. I have worked with youth in many different capacities. I have worked with 4-H, public schools, college, and volunteered in many areas. I am dedicated to and passionate about education and the process of learning. I have good realtionships with my students and they trust that I have their best interests at hand. While I understand that learning is serious, it should also be fun. I value the importance of learning and believe that I convey that to those I teach.

I recently received my Bachelors Degree from the University of Michigan, where I studied English and Spanish. I chose a rigorous course schedule which allowed me to greatly develop my writing, editing, proofreading, and critical thinking skills. During my sophomore year of college, I began to facilitate creative writing workshops with youth and adults. This included editing and correcting for grammar as well as content, and providing useful feedback to my students. I continued with this work throughout college, and even after graduating. In addition, I taught an undergraduate course at the University of Michigan for the Program on Intergroup Relations. I was responsible planning and executing activities, teaching class sessions, and assigning and grading student projects, journals and exams for a class of 16 students.
