I started teaching Sunday School when I was in Junior High. I taught a little boy in my class how to read and it was the most rewarding experience I have ever encountered. As aforementioned, throughout high school, I began tutoring students in Math, English, Spanish, Science, and History. I tutored one 6th grade student who was ADHD. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in using the differentiated approach to teaching--based upon the seven intelligences. I plan for all lessons being taught, and state the objectives on the board for each lesson. I present the lesson, allowing the students to interact and respond by activating prior knowledge, discussing points and inviting them to ask questions. I like to interject related activities at 20-30 minute intervals to keep their interest up. I also like to provide centering and closing activities.
I taught in private schools in California for 15 years ( 1980-1994). I started as a teacher, then became a Media Specialist, then a Vice Principal and finally a principal. I have over 25 years experience as a hospital (CFO) Chief Financial Officer. My educational experience includes: teaching high school, teaching college and tutoring elementary and junior high school. I hold a PhD in Financial Management. I have taught English, math, Spanish, accounting, money and banking, investments, human resource management. Because of my work with persons who have physical and mental problems, I have learned to be patient and sharpen my listening skills. This way I am also able to recognize when someone is frustrated or exhausted and use these signs to better cope with any behavioral problems that may arise. I always utilize positive language and seek to understand an issue a student may have to help promote a comfortable learning environment.
