A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching very much. I think a strength trying to use a student's active content or prior knowledge to connect to material. My attempts are always to make the student feel empowered by the education process. If you can connect to way what they are into, either cartoons, hip-hop, popular culture, with conservative humor, then sometimes you can gain their understanding much quicker. In math I try to use a very simple, step by step process and continue until they "Get it!"

A Little Bit About Me...

I am an advocate of self-discovery and prefer to ask questions of my students rather than answer them. I believe that if a student can discover the answer for themselves, rather than being told the answer, they will have a deeper and longer-lasting understanding of the material. I believe each student learns differently and I try to learn what works best for each student and adapt my style accordingly. I also have a passion for teaching effective study skills so that students can continue to learn on their own.
