A Little Bit About Me...

I tutored a special needs child this summer in every subject for her schooling. I taught piano lessons for two years in high school and tutored students in Music Theory. Painting is one of my top subjects! I'm an alumnus of the University of Florida where I received my bachelors degree in painting. I have experience in Acrylic and Oil painting. I am a very energetic teacher and like to get my students excited about what we are about to do. I like to tell them the days objectives and work with them from there. I plan eventually to incorporate other art forms for example poetry, or music to evoke emotional responses to paint. But before I delve into any of that I would be very thorough about the fundamentals of painting. Helping them to understand the differences and similarities between painting and drawing and how they both require the ability of seeing and perceiving.

A Little Bit About Me...

I really like working with children from low income families. I think each child has a different interest and way of learning. I try to discover these learning styles before I begin the tutoring process. I try to allow them to be comfortable and having fun during our sessions. Most of the time I do a lot of question/conversation responses to allow them to find the answer for themselves. I like a problem based learning style, even for the youngest of children. I not only want to teach them how to properly concur their learning material but how to find the information they need if they do not know the answer.
