While attending Chiropractic college I tutored Organic Chemistry at the local community college. 80% of my daily work activity is in educating my patients about how the body works both physically and chemically. I perform several in office chemical tests and have had extensive courses in Chemistry and Biology.

During the last eight years I have worked full-time in vocational and adult education environments. In addition to ESL, I have taught VESL (Vocational English as a Second Language), and GED Preparation. I have lived outside of the U.S. for five years. During this time I learned the languages, and engaged in work projects including I.T. Consulting, telecommunications, and graduate studies. First, and foremost, I believe that effective learning is both fun and relevant. I have always been able to make a game of it and to make it both interesting and challenging to others. My goal is never to teach them a rote solution, but to challenge them to think about the concepts and have then tell me the answers. This builds their confidence and solidifies their learning experience. I find that if they understand how a concept was derived in the first place, they seldom forget that story and therefore have learned something that will stay with them for a live time. I prefer to use the Socratic Method and draw the information from my students. Again, I think it is best if they THINK rather than learn.
