A Little Bit About Me...

As a 2009 graduate of Eastern Washington University, I have teaching experience at the middle and high school. I currently hold a Washington State Teaching Certificate in Social Studies and Language Arts. While at EWU I worked as a tutor for the NCAA to keep athletes eligible to play. I have tutored students in the subjects of English, history, economics, biology and geography. I worked as a teaching assistant with credit deficient high school students in a drop-out prevention program. In this position, I worked with students to build basic academic and life skills so they could return to their home schools and successfully earn a high school diploma. I am currently a high school English and Social Studies teacher in Soap Lake, WA.

A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated with a 3.9 from Whitworth College in 1979. I taught a 1st/2nd grade class for three years. My teaching certificate is not current. I home schooled my 4 children- the oldest through 8th grade. My second son had a learning disability. I spent many hours researching the best methods of teaching him to read. He made the deans list his first quarter in college! I recently taught adults how to do enumeration for the 2010 Census Bureau. I lead a club for middle school students. I am responsible for planning and implementing activities and teaching, and supervising youth leaders. I can teach/tutor any subject except a foreign language or music.
