Each student has an individual learning style, and I like to determine ways that each student learns best, and teach to that style. In the classroom, I do not believe in giving the students pointless busywork or worksheets, but rather prefer to include all the students in discussion and peer-led reinforcement of a lesson I presented. I am a creative person, and as such, bring that into my teaching. I participated in the New Jersey Writing Project training, as well as Six Traits Writing curriculum, multi-sensory Alphabetic Phonics, and the Herman Method of phonetic reading instruction. A Little Bit About Me...

While attending college I tutored fellow students in Literature, History and Political Science. I was able to help failing students achieve a minimum of passing grades while some excelled to A’s in their class. I raised six children and not only did I spend many hours helping my own children with their home work I also helped neighbor children complete theirs as well.
I adapt individual tutoring techniques to each student’s specific needs and learning style. I teach study skills that students can use the rest of their academic career. I am patient, caring and supportive to each student. I am available for home work emergencies and pretest studies. I prefer to work with student and parents as a team with open communications.
