As an instructor, I taught two classes per long semester and one, intensive summer session. For three years, I have been a writing consultant for students at Rice University who took classes in rhetoric & composition. Some students have been ESL (English as a Second Language). I have tutored at least 25 students total (about 5 per semester), and so I have had experience with tutoring students with a variety of needs.

My wife and I home-schooled our three children from 1993 until 2004. In addition, I was active in Scouts from 1994 until 2007 as Assistant Scoutmaster, Scoutmaster and Merit Badge Counselor.
