My teaching cert is in history I have used my teaching degree in the business segment teaching technical training courses in telecommunications, computer technology, and general business courses including customer service, safety and inventory techniques. I have built several technical training centers from the ground up. I have coordinated with various vendors to supply materials to assure that the latest technology available was in place. I developed the appropriate training courses to educate technicians on the latest fiber optic equipment and how to test it to resolve service issues. I also developed and deployed training material to disseminate information on new data base applications in the telecommunication arena. I have been a substitute teacher for the last 7 years at Groesbeck ISD working mainly with the high school area, and some at the middle school. I also teach an adult student at a local plant working on his GED. I am the primary instructor there. I write for several online freelance article sites and am paid to do that as well. I have passed my EC-12 Special Education test and also my Generalist 4-8 and am considered Highly Qualified in those 2 areas. I have to apply for my probationary certificate and lack the student internship area to complete my certification. I would do that upon getting a full-time teaching position. I love helping students understand concepts that seem 100% foreign to them. I teach mostly geared towards visual learners. I tend to use visual and real life examples to push my students to grasp the concepts for themselves. I prefer to make them do the work and answer questions as we move forward. I do not believe students should just be given answers. They should be given the tools to answer the questions for themselves.
