During my years attending UMass Dartmouth, I recieved my Bachelor's Degree in Sociology with a minor in Business Administration. But I also gained alot of experience working with children. While attending Brown University, I volunteered as a tutor at Providence Summerbridge, an enrichment program for inner-city middle school students. I realized that teaching was my passion and became a full-time ESL teacher at an elementary school in Washington, DC while earning masters degree in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from American University. Prior to my second career in the field of service to at-risk senior citizens, I taught English for four years at Westport High School. Following the reduction in force made necessary by budgetary constraints, I taught for ten years at the Crystal Springs School in Assonet, MA as a Special Needs teacher.
