I remember many of my high school colleagues asked me to teach the class because of unique talent in teaching I had. I believe students have problems in learning because they get information in wrong orders or they cannot arrange them in correct order. Teachers should organize and deliver information in suitable ways, so students can recall them easily. I published a paper, which described the impact of modern active teaching strategies on student’s performance. I found that when students find the information themselves, they would retain them for long time and use them in their daily life.

I began tutoring privately,as well as,for my school's learning center during the early 1990's. I have continued tutoring privately on and off for the past twenty years. I was a substitute teacher in California and Michigan during the 2000's. I also had my own high school level classroom in California for two school years. I was hired on an "Emergency Credential" because I had my BS but no teaching credential. I was laid off due to budget cuts in June of 2003. Kind and patient tutor for math, science & computing.

Although not degreed in math, science or computers, they were my favorite subjects. More importantly, I am gifted in communicating concepts into terms my students understand and grasp. Repetition doesn't equate to learning, it's a component, it's a way to practice, but it is not how the mind grasps the concept. My comments on tutoring Math : I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Michigan State University. I worked as a tutor in the Math Learning Center at MSU, as well as an undergraduate teaching assistant.

I worked as a tutor in the Math Learning Center at Michigan State University for 3 years, and was also a teaching assistant for a precalculus for a semester while attending MSU. I have a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Michigan State, and have completed a semester of student teaching and graduate certification courses in teaching mathematics.
I like to use what the student already knows to prompt them forward into discovering how to complete the problem at hand on their own with guidance. I think this help connects the new material to the material the student already knows, which, in turn, will help them remember and understand it better.
