As a recent graduate from Slippery Rock University, I have earned my BS in both Elementary Education as well as Special Education. I have worked with the university to tutor fellow college classmates and helped potential teacher candidates succeed in mathematics. I have also gained my certification in middle school mathematics. A Little Bit About Me...

My approach to teaching is more of a "why" approach. It is more important for students to know why something is or works rather than just how. This approach works well for middle and high school students. It allows students not only to understand the ideas taught but to apply them to other areas as well. I also like to use visual aids as well as conversation. I have found that many of us vary widely in learning styles. Some are visual learners, others are audio learners, and still others are a combination. I work well one-on-one but also enjoy small groups.
