Experienced, university-quality instruction at low rates

I recently completed my Master's degree in Portuguese at Brigham Young University. As part of my Master's program, I taught beginning and intermediate Portuguese for five semesters to classes both small and large. My studies included not only language and linguistics but also culture and history of both Portugal and Brazil. I have experience in teaching reading comprehension and writing as well as speaking, and am familiar with ACTFL guidelines for oral proficiency. I also have experience specifically in teaching Portuguese to speakers of other language, and I also speak Spanish and some French. My comments on tutoring Portuguese : Fluent speaker, advanced experince in reading and writing

I am a full time student at BYU majoring in Civil Engineering and minoring in Portuguese. I have served a two year full time mission in Brazil, where I was required to interact 24 7 with the amazing Brazilian people. I learned their languange along side their rich and amazing culture. I was required to train new Americans not only in the duties of a missionary, but in the portuguese language. I have completed up to the Junior year requirements for a portuguese degree, which include advanced courses in writing, grammar, and conversation. I am currently studing portuguese literature including works by amazing authors such as Machado de Assis, Camões, etc. I have worked as a translator for spanish construction workers, assiting them to understand what the employeer required of them and informing the employeer of concerns and dificulties that the workers were experiencing. While pursuing my own studies in college, I realized that I not only love learning but that I love to increase learning in others as well. Because of this, I spent many hours throughout college volunteering to tutor calculus and chemistry students. During my last two years of college, I worked as a chemistry teaching assistant, a position that allowed me to teach chemistry to groups of 25 college students. A Little Bit About Me...

I have earned two bachelor degrees, BS in Philosophy and BS in Horticulture Management. I also have two minors, Business and Logic. I have worked as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant throughout my undergraduate education. I have presented my research at a conference in New York. Exceptional communicator with extensive professional experience training organizational representatives at various levels as well as volunteer experience mentoring at-risk youth.
