As a student at UofU and BYU I tutored and was tutored myself. While attending BYU I worked in the student advisement center part-time, mentoring and helping students develop their schedules, and tutored them in subject matter from courses I'd already completed. I served as a volunteer representative for the LDS church for two years in Denmark and Iceland. I speak fluent Danish and Norwegian, and I taught extensively on many topics to all age groups while over there. I've tutored other students, friends, and family in math and math-related fields(up to calculus III level math). I excelled at Math and English composition in school. First of all, I like teaching physics and math. Many students complained that physics was too hard for them to learn. I think the main problem is that they learned it too fast and couldn’t understand the basic concepts. They need some more time and patience to figure out the basic mechanisms and develop the necessary skills and abilities to solve the concrete problems. These skills/abilities are so critical if they want to pursue a career in the areas of engineering and science in their future lives. I usually encourage students to use their full potentials to solve their “hard” problems.
