I have a B.S. in Education from NIU,Illinois. Graduate work at Northridge State,CA. I'm a volunteer tutor at Mary's Place/Sharing and Caring. I've been a Reserve Teacher for the Mpls Public schools specializing in Special Ed. for five and one half years. I'm a history judge every year for History Day.

A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is, for the most part, non-directive. I think it is important to try to have students answer their own questions. When this does not work, I do not just tell the student what goes where or why this doesn't work, I give reasons and have them tell me these same reasons the next time we come across something that doesn't work.
At SCSU, I work as a writing consultant at the Writing Center on campus. With students, I help to make them better writers by helping answer questions, presenting questions, working through the brainstorming and paper-writing process, and helping with formatting. As well, I have helped to coordinate our second satellite location, which entails working with people on their schedules, managing conflicts of schedule, and serving as a head of the second location. I grew up in a household that valued education and creative learning. As a result, I have always been driven to do my very best in all subject areas. I officially started tutoring in 2002, at Southwest Minnesota State University. My initial subjects were Algebra and Finite Math.
