A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy the individuality of each student. One student may learn best visually, while another through kinesetics, each a valid learning style. Once a child can find their style they can confidence in their ability to learn. I believe each child can learn I just need to help them find the confidence to do so. I listen to past successes the child tells me about to see how that intersects with learning styles. I believe patience, listening, and perseverance are the tools that help the teacher help the student best.
I rediscovered my joy for teaching in my Masters program achieving an M.A. in Theology and Popular Culture. I helped my friends build stronger research papers and better study habits. There is a way to reach every child. It is my responsibility to figure out how an individual child learns best, and then use it to show him learing is fun! I enjoy challenging a child to think - to think more creativly, tieing together concepts to gain understanding. There is nothing like seeing a child grasp a new concept, or watching their eyes light up as something which seemed boring or unimportant becomes exciting and relevant!
