Helping students learn and learn how to grow

I like students to be comfortable, enjoy their experiences with me as much as possible, and learn not only the material they need to study, but also habits and practices that will help them with future studies.
My teaching experience is broad across subjects and age levels. Learning and teaching excite me and I like to think that attitude rubs off on my students. It can be fun to learn, and even those subjects a student does not find enjoyable, can prove satisfying. I try to make academic subjects relevant by introducing real-life applications. Once a student is interested in learning, we can move on to study strategies tailored to each child's individual learning style, and develop a plan whereby the student can progress on his or her own time. A Little Bit About Me...

My first experience instructing young people took place while I was in college, coaching elementary girl’s basketball. This job, which turned out to be amazing and inspiring encouraged me to find a career that would incorporate helping others and furthering my own learning experience. Today, I study secondary education so that I can earn my Master’s degree and go on to teach young people. Studies show that people who are used to success are more likely to try again and again when confronted with a challenge. My goal is to build a success-driven environment where the student feels like he/she can do anything. Of course, I challenge the student as well, but first I make sure they feel confident that they can tackle any obstacle they are confronted with.
