In Fall 2016, I got my master's degree in mathematics from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Now I am studying my PhDs there. Having teaching assistantship, I have been teaching math since Spring 2015. I have a very good experience with teaching math, especially calculus. I am a patient tutor and have very good notes/feedbacks from my students with my teaching evaluations. This makes me more confident to be a good tutor. I always adapt my teaching style to fit the student. I am willing to do just about anything to help a student learn a subject, so long as that student is as dedicated to learning it as I am to teaching it. My philosophy is to first cut through the jargon than frequently confuses students. Often the underlying concept is easy to grasp, but has been made unnecessarily difficult because the text or teacher has used terminology that is confusing. This is particularly true in the field of mathematics. The writer, instructor or academic will begin by using a term which is ambiguous or has not been explained. The other principle that is important in mathematics is active participation by the student. To fully grasp the subject requires practice working problems. As the student solves more problems, he or she will gain more confidence and greater familiarity with the subject. I excelled in mathematics at the Naval Academy. Frequently, I provided help to my classmates as an informal tutor. At the conclusion of two and a half years of study, I was ranked 7th in my class in mathematics.

I have earned a BS in Chemistry and a minor in Math. I am currently working as a chemist, so I have kept up with all the new studies that are taking place right now. I have tutored all through High School, College and thereafter. I have a real passion for learning math, all sciences, and history. I started teaching Music in 1984. I taught part-time, temporary while pursuing education goals and working as a professional musician. In 1998 I became an adult educator, and in the following nine years I taught GED, Workforce, Computer and ESL. I learned to speak Spanish from some of my ESL students.
