I graduated from Ohio University in 1978 with a BS in Education. I went on to earn a Masters degree in Educational Administration. I hold two valid permanent teaching certificates and a professional license. I have been fortunate to have taught all grades and all subjects with the exception of 1st, 3rd, and 4th. I have also had the pleasure of being an ABLE instructor for adults. I am currently teaching high school, however have been offered a 4th grade position in math and science. I have worked with gifted, regular, and special education students. I continue to take classes at Ohio and Ashland University. Also, I am a Teaching Fellow for the Historical Society.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with children, and feel that I can relate to them because I struggled in my early school years. I feel it's important to identify each child's learning style, and use that knowledge to help them discover the potential that they each hold. I feel it's extremely important to help them build their confidence, because anxiety only distracts them from the learning process. Finally, I try to make learning fun, by identifying each child's main intersts.
During my years at The Ohio State University, I earned a B.A. in Psychology, and completed a year and a half of Masters work in Social Work. After completing my B.A., I was hired as a professional tutor. A Little Bit About Me...

Since the attainment of my Bachelor's degree, I have worked as an after school teacher in a preschool setting. In this job, I helped students complete their homework, working with them on an individual basis on subjects that were difficult for them.
