I am a patient person who is used to tutoring students as that is what homeschooling is. I believe in learning by doing, experiential education. Many students think that they can't do something that is hard, but when it is broken down into small pieces, they find that it is not as difficult as they thought. I enjoy using creative methods to teach a topic, including creating multiple ways to explain a term or concept and providing analogies to concepts that are familiar to the student. I have worked at a few different jobs and just went back to college again at Utica School of Commerce and got my certificate degree as a Medical Office Assistant.

Between the years of 1978 and 1984 I was a monitor and then a supervisor in a small Christian school using the ACE curriculum. They have various programmed learning booklets teaching all of the major subjects. You are actually more of a tutor than a teacher if you work with these booklets. I have experience in the four major areas of learning which are English, Math, Social Studies, and Science. I was with students from first through twelfth grade. While I was college I had occasion to take two years of college level English and also statistics up through 600 level. The English helped when I was writing my Master’s Thesis, it was 120 pages long. My committee found it to be well written. The statistics was the basis for the thesis.
