LESSONS SHOULD ACCOMMODATE STUDENT LEARNING STYLES

I have 15 years of teaching experience with special needs students in a rural school district. During this time i provided private tutoring sessions for Elementary, Middle, High School and College students. At the college level my tutoring experience is with reading, writing, study skills and organization. Currently I develop educational programming for incarcerated youth.
My belief is that all students have different learning styles. Therefore lessons need to be individualized to meet student needs. In order to be successful students need to be engaged by creative teachers. My teaching experience has taught me to accommodate these needs when developing lesson plans.

I realize that math can be very boring to students, but contrary to popular belief it can also be, do I dare say it, fun. I believe that repetition plays an integral part in learning, but only if the material is relevant to the student. I prefer to let the student do the work and I will foster the thought process. All students think and learn differently, the success for each student lay in finding their unique way of learning.
