Spanish is one of my top subjects! I have been studying Spanish for about 7 years now, along with having first-hand experience in using the language while studying in Valencia, Spain. I have a great passion for foreign languages and I love teaching those who want to learn as well.

I prefer to meet with students in person, but I´m more than willing to give sessions online via Skype or through other applications. I love meeting new people and have a great interest in teaching them about the Spanish language, as well as about foreign languages and world cultures in general.

My comments on tutoring Spanish : Hello! I am a student at The University of Akron. I came to America 2 years ago and I am from Spain! Spanish is my first language and many people asked for help during the past two years and they got really good grades with my help. There's no better way to learn Spanish than talking to me!

I like to talk, talk and talk. That's the best way to learn a language.
I am from Spain and I lived there the past 18 years. I had being tutoring for two years here in Ohio. All my students got really good grades. Moreover, my theory is that you cannot learn a language by reading a book but talking and having a conversation. I find that students benefit greatly by becoming active participants in the teaching process. I try to develop a curriculum that students help determine, and create lessons that center around topics that interest the students and apply to their lives in a real and practical manner. It is my firm belief that if students have the confidence in themselves to believe they can do well, they will succeed. I believe that there is just not one way to teach because there are many different learning style. Teachers must identify their students' learning styles and find ways to incorporate them into the lesson. I agree with Gardner's Theory of Multiple Intelligences. Some students are auditory learners, while some are visual. Some students are bodily-kinesthetic learners, while some are naturalists. Other students may be interpersonal or intrapersonal learners. A Little Bit About Me...

I always try to start from "where the student is" and build on from starting point. I believe in positive reinforcement and that anything worth having in life requires consistent effort. I frequently am told after a day of subbing, "Mr. Burns, you are the greatest sub ever!" My wife and I also still perform as musicians in local restaurants, including several Mexican restaurants where we perform many songs in Spanish.
I taught Middle School band for 30 years in the public schools, followed by 9 years part-time at the respected Old Trail School in Bath, OH.
