I have a very opening tutoring style and try to specify the techniques to the students desires and needs. Students, I think, benefit from a understanding a variety of angles when approaching a problem, and typically, one of them will stick. I feel like it is important to connect to students on a personal level yet still retain a professional attitude. Children tend to respond to someone who is fun and friendly, instead of a person who chooses not to connect with students in this way. I am very passionate about learning and teaching what I have learned to others. I think if you can get a child interested in a subject he or she will be more willing to learn and enjoy his or her work more because he or she is personally benefiting from it.
