As a teacher I realize that every student has a different style of learning, and I work to quickly understand the best ways to teach students in a one on one setting, generally using some form of self-discovery, depending on the subject. When teaching music I seek to help the student to learn good practice behavior and an understanding of where they fit in the the big picture of a music group. I attended Houghton College for 2 1/2 years. Then I went to NCCC and earned an AS, then transferred to Charter Oak State College. They took all the credits I had earned as a student at both schools, allowed me to define my degree, told me which additional credits I needed and granted my degree. I have homeschooled my children for 15 years. My oldest is 19 and going to RIT in the fall. He has an AS which he got the week he turned 18. I also have two teens whom I currently school. I have taught them math courses including Algebra and Geometry, American History, writing, reading, etc. I also taught a class in Spanish 1 for other homeschooled students.
