I like to do a lot of positive reinforcing and reaffirming.
I have worked with children for over 15 years. During this time I have provide homework help and tutoring in Math, Reading and Spanish. The children that I have worked with range in age from 5 to 17 years old. I have also done an extensive amount of work with infants and toddlers in the field of early learning as a nanny. My teaching style with students of all ages is to facilitate their learning as opposed to simply feeding them what I feel is the best response. I began teaching at eighteen. I’d just graduated high school and wasn’t ready for college, so I worked as a personal trainer at a gym within jogging distance of my house. I worked with clients one-on-one helping structure their workouts to their needs, and while I may be stretching it to equate teaching with providing pointers on proper form or advising on ways to augment a stagnant routine, but I think that gap year spent in the gym was when my proclivity for teaching first became incipient.
