My comments on tutoring Poetry : I have taught poetry in all my literature classes.

I am a teacher with 7 years of classroom experience. My degree is in English, but I have taught in many other areas, including math, history, logic, and rhetoric. I have also tutored many students in grammar and writing, as well as Algebra I and II. I have been responsible for teaching books to students from American Literature (Hawthorne and Hemingway), European Literature (Dickens and Shakespeare), and World Literature (Gilgamesh and Homer).
I prefer the Socratic method of asking/answering questions and discussion, but I am more than capable of diverting to a more lecture style of teaching if that is what works with the student. I tailor my teaching style to the strengths of the student.

My work in clinical psychology has been mostly with children, the severely mentally ill, and abuse cases. My experience ranges a great deal and encompasses a lot of subject matter from K-12 Math to English and Literature.
