College Graduate from BYU-Hawaii University Major:ART Minor:Psychology Applying To Texas State for the Spring of 2012 in their School Psychology Department I work at John Newcombe Tennis Ranch as a Tennis Instructor for the Academy At John Newcombe Tennis Ranch I teach tennis as well as create weekend activities with the kids and help them with there school work.
I am Dyslexic and approach subjects from a different angle. I use a lot of visual techniques to help the understanding of the objective at hand. I try and figure out what works best for the student. I also try to have some fun in the learning process and keep stress and anxiety levels for the student at a minimum.

So I work to draw students in by keeping things interesting, using fun examples, humor, and applying things to areas they will actually care about. I want to make you actually WANT to learn. For three years, I have been a writing consultant for students at Rice University who took classes in rhetoric & composition. Some students have been ESL (English as a Second Language). I have tutored at least 25 students total (about 5 per semester), and so I have had experience with tutoring students with a variety of needs.
I recognize that each meeting is unique, and I have a great amount of patience and empathy. I am calm and open, and I want to do what I can for my students to feel at ease in discussing their writing. Understanding my students' needs and providing a good atmosphere of dialogue are priorities.
