I have worked for the past 13 years in accounting and management positions. I started in the Master of Education in the Teaching Arts at Mississippi College this past January and recieved by Class A Teacher's License in June of this year. I am certified to teach grades 4-8 in all four of the major subjects: math, science, social studies and language. I am also certified to teach grades 7-12 in the social studies area: US History, government, geography, and world history. I realize that, in order for a student to want to learn, the subject must be presented to them in an interesting way. I know I have the ability to make the subject relative to the child in a way that is both easy-to-understand, yet effective. I am extremely patient, enthuastic, and truly love the subject of English. The idea of helping a child who struggles with English or just doesn't like it in general appeals to me greatly. My teaching style is based on the multiple intelligences such as visual/spatial, bodily/kinesthetic, etc, because students learn in different ways. I notice that with being a teacher, it is good to give students an opportunity to express their learning through activities that they are comfortable in,yet have some activities that will be challenging to them so they can grow and learn new things in life, which will be beneficial to them in some way.
