I expect to have my Minnesota State Teaching License in Elementary Education k-6 and Middle School Language Arts 5-8 by mid summer. Along with my teaching degree I have received a certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders and have been working as a camp counselor through the Autism Society of Minnesota for the last three summers. While earning my BA in history, I was able to lean many aspects of history. My studies ranged from the Mild Ages to the 1960s and current. I was also able to intern with the Sherburne County History Center where I learned on the job techniques and how to interact with children. Though teaching was not my primary role at the History Center, I was exposed to many opportunities not only to teach but to help others track down their lineage. While attending the University of Minnesota, I deepened my relationship with the visual arts. I extensively studied two-dimensional art in the areas of Sumi ink painting, watercolor, charcoal drawing, oil and powder pastel rendering, graphite sketching and printmaking; focusing on intaglio, aluminum and stone lithography. Though I have little experience teaching or tutoring in visual art, I do have teaching experience in dance, skin-care and color cosmetics.
