Experience Summary
I've recently finished the licensing program through the University of Minnesota. I expect to have my Minnesota State Teaching License in Elementary Education k-6 and Middle School Language Arts 5-8 by mid summer. Along with my teaching degree I have received a certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorders and have been working as a camp counselor through the Autism Society of Minnesota for the last three summers. My continued education has given me the opportunity to work in multiple classrooms throughout the Minneapolis and St. Paul areas mentoring diverse populations of students from all elementary grade levels.
Teaching Style
Teaching comes naturally to me. Because of my extensive work with individuals with various disabilities, I have developed the patients and persistence that allows me to accommodate instruction to meet learners' needs. I believe that every individual can learn and grow, however, I understand that growth varies from person to person. There is no one size fits all education, which means that each individual learns differently. As an educator it is my job to find what works for any learner. By using methods that will help the individual, they will become successful and gain confidence in their abilities.
