I have been teaching and tutoring kids since I graduated from high school. Even in High school my friends were asking me for help. I have a BA degree in English. I am a native Polish speaker, also know Spanish and English obviously. During the past few years I have tutored students in math, English as well as a little bit in sciences. My style tends to range based on who I am trying to teach, and I suppose is most accurately labeled as adaptive. I understand that different people learn things in different ways, and so I try to accommodate that with my teaching. For instance if I found that a student learns better visually then I would attempt to use visual cues and examples in lesson plans to make the material as easy to understand as possible. I also believe in keeping a very loose and pleasant atmosphere, and making sure that everyone feels comfortable and safe, which I believe also assists in the learning process. My first major mentoring/teaching experience occurred in college when I began leading study groups and eventually organizing tutoring sessions with a number of my fellow English, Calculus, and Physics students. I thoroughly enjoy teaching young minds. Regardless of the reason that student is seeking tutoring, whether it be a demonstrated deficiency in performance, or a desire to excel in the subject matter, tutoring is an ideal method to provide individualized instruction to the student and tailor that instruction for maximum efficacy. As a tutor, one may vary their teaching style from student to student and further modify their approach with each student dependent upon daily emotional and motivational changes of said student.
