My comments on tutoring English : I have taken English courses at El Camino College and have received As in all of them. I have tutored students in English since 2003. This comment applies for all the English related subjects above and below.

I am a big believer in explaining concepts repeatedly until a student understands so I have a lot of patience. You need to with math. I remember how it was learning all those concepts for the first time. I try to use steps as much as possible so my students always feel like they have a way to get to their destination from any point in a problem. Beyond that there's not to much to say. I'm a firm believer that a person does not truly understand a concept until they have practiced doing problems over and over.
